Illinois Central College honored it’s newest graduates at the ICC Spring 2013 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the ICC CougarPlex.

ICC awarded 1,164 degrees for the Spring 2013 Semester and over 400 for the Summer.

ICC welcomed a number of high school FFA students on-campus Thursday for the 2013 FFA AG Mechanics and Horticulture CDE competition.

High school FFA students competed in a number of events testing their skill in carpentry, horticulture and crop management, welding, surveying, and more!

Rep. Cheri Bustos (17th Congressional District) talks with an ICC student in the industrial electronics lab during a visit to the ICC – East Peoria Campus.

Illinois Representative Cheri Bustos visited Illinois Central College this week. Her visit came as a part of a tour Bustos is making of the community colleges in her district to learn how colleges are teaming with manufacturers and employers to address skill gaps.

Bustos took time to talk about the importance of community colleges in training the future workforce. She spoke with several students in the Agricultural and Industrial Technologies Department and looked in on robotics, welding, and computer animated design classes.

ICC Cougars Head Coach Cindy Stein and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville Head Coach Paula Buscher played under Coach Ramsey as students at ICC. Buscher was the Keynote Speaker at this year’s tournament banquet.

Coach Stein and the Cougars advanced in Game 1 of the 2013 NJCAA Div II Women’s Basketball National Championship 63-43 over St. Louis Community College. The Cougars next game will be tonight at 6pm against the #6 Highland Community College at the ICC CougarPlex.

The ICC Lady Cougars ranked #1 for NJCAA Region 24 Div. II Women’s Basketball and #4 in the nation!

The Cougars won their first game of regionals against Lincoln Land Community College 80-40 and will go on to play Danville Area Community College at 2pm Saturday in the Regional Semi-Finals at the ICC CougarPlex. Live game streaming is available online through iHigh.com.
